Has been shown to have an action on intestinal smooth muscle, insulin and somatostatin release, and synaptic neurotransmission.(In Vitro):Galanin (1-30), human (Gal1-30) is an agonist of GalR1 and GalR2 receptors, with Kis of both 1 nM. Galanin (1-30), human displaces 125I-labeled rat galanin with a Kd of 0.5 nM. Galanin (1-30), human (hGal) causes contractions of isolated longitudinal rat fundus strips, with an ED50 of 13.8 ± 1.6 nM.
